What is the Novavax Vaccine?
The Novavax vaccine is a subunit (or acellular) vaccine—the same type of vaccine which has been well established for decades, such as the Hepatitis B and DTaP (Diphtheria, Pertussis and Acellular Pertussis) vaccines. Its primary series currently consists of two doses. It is not compatible with other COVID-19 vaccines, as either a booster or primary replacement; if you received another COVID-19 vaccine, you are unable to receive the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine.
Availability of the Vaccine
JCMG currently has a very limited allocation of the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine.
Due to limited availability, and that once a vial of the vaccine has been punctured it is only good for 6 hours, we will attempt to group patient vaccinations together to avoid wastage. This vaccine is only given on certain dates. Please call ahead at (573) 556-7745 to confirm.
