What is the Novavax Vaccine?
Novavax is a subunit (or acellular) vaccine, which is the same type of vaccine as Hepatitis B and DTaP (Diphtheria, Pertussis and Acellular Pertussis). This vaccine type has been well-established for many decades.
Availability of the Vaccine
JCMG currently has a very limited allocation of the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine.
Due to limited availability, and that once a vial of the vaccine has been punctured it is only good for 6 hours, we will attempt to group patient vaccinations together to avoid wastage.
