JCMG’s Dedication to Quality
Providing the highest quality healthcare is part of the mission and day-to-day life here at JCMG. AAAHC accreditation and the formation of an Accountable Care Organization are two of the ways JCMG lives that mission every day.
AAAHC Accreditation
Jefferson City Medical Group is accredited by the AAAHC – Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Ambulatory means “outpatient.”. As a group, JCMG is not required to be accredited by AAAHC. JCMG chooses to maintain this accreditation and reapply for it every three years to help ensure that the organization is adhering to the strictest quality standards every day. The approval process is very rigorous and covers clinical quality, privacy, patient education, and much more. JCMG is proud to have been AAAHC accredited since 2009.
Accountable Care Organization
In 2019, JCMG formed an Accountable Care Organization with other health care providers from around the country that share JCMG’s passion for improving health outcomes.
According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services: Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) are groups of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers, who come together voluntarily to give coordinated high-quality care to their Medicare patients.
The goal of coordinated care is to ensure that patients get the right care at the right time while avoiding unnecessary duplication of services and preventing medical errors.
To better meet the unique healthcare needs of our Medicare patients, JCMG has created a new department dedicated to keeping seniors healthy and informed: JCMG Population Health. The Population Health team of nurses works closely with JCMG’s primary care providers and specialists to better manage chronic conditions and to ensure that Medicare patients are taking advantage of all preventative screenings and services available to them.
By participating in an ACO, JCMG has doubled down on its mission to “provide the high quality, cost-effective, patient-centered healthcare to Mid-Missouri.”
