JCMG Express Care Clinic Opening Fall 2023

Fulton, MO – September 18, 2023

Jefferson City Medical Group (JCMG) and Callaway County will host a grand opening of the JCMG Express Care clinic on Wednesday, October 11 at 4:30 p.m. at the newly remodeled facility in Fulton.

JCMG and Callaway County have partnered with the Callaway Chamber of Commerce to hold a ribbon-cutting at the clinic on October 11. The community is invited to attend the event to learn more about JCMG Express Care’s services, meet the providers, and tour the facility.

JCMG’s Express Care clinic is located at 350 Country Meadows in Fulton, just off Highway F. The walk-in clinic treats immediate, non-emergent health concerns in addition to providing wellness services such as physicals and immunizations. Patients may be seen for conditions that are non-life threatening including minor cuts and burns, sprains, minor fevers, sore throats, seasonal allergies, earaches, and more. The facility includes x-ray capabilities.

In addition to the walk-in Express Care services, JCMG Family Medicine Physician, Rezwan Islam, M.D., will see new and established patients one day a week by appointment at the Fulton clinic.

“I practiced medicine in Fulton for many years before joining JCMG, and still serve residents of Callaway County. I look forward to continuing to provide quality, accessible health care to the community at JCMG’s new facility in Fulton,” said Dr. Islam.

Callaway County has been without extended hours healthcare facilities following the closures of the SSM Health Family Medicine Clinic in 2020 and Callaway Community Hospital in 2022. JCMG and Callaway County signed an agreement in March 2023 to bring much-needed extended-hours health care to the community. Callaway County received funding directly from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021. The county commission, along with the commission’s ARPA Committee, decided this initiative was a priority and awarded JCMG funding for start-up and equipment expenses.

“Callaway County is very excited to have JCMG opening a facility that will provide extended-hour healthcare provisions with x-ray capabilities to over 45,000 county residents and numerous industries,” said Gary Jungermann, Callaway County Presiding Commissioner. “The receipt of ARPA funds has given us an opportunity to strengthen the county’s infrastructure and invest in key programs. The award of funding to JCMG will make a real difference for our community, benefiting families and businesses both by supporting critical services and addressing local needs.”

JCMG’s Express Care clinic opened with shortened hours on Monday, September 18. During this time the walk-in clinic’s hours of operation will be 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Full, extended hours will begin on Monday, October 16. Extended hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Patients who wish to schedule an appointment with Dr. Islam at the Fulton location may call 1-855-JCMG-DOC (526-4362) or (573) 556-1745 to speak with the JCMG Primary Care Liaison.
