Melissa Holcomb is a nurse practitioner at Express Care of JCMG, offering compassionate care to patients of all ages. She treats a wide range of non-emergent medical concerns that require prompt attention, including minor illnesses and injuries. In addition to urgent care services, Melissa has experience in wellness visits and immunizations. Her approach is rooted in evidence-based medicine and personalized care, ensuring each patient receives thoughtful treatment tailored to their individual needs and overall well-being.
Melissa’s path to healthcare began during her time studying social sciences. As a college student her goal was to help the whole world, but it didn’t take her long to realize that the greatest impact comes from caring for people directly. With that in mind, she found her way to patient care, where she’s able to support individuals in meaningful and immediate ways.
Melissa partners closely with the broader JCMG team to ensure patients receive appropriate follow-up and seamless continuity of care. Her family is deeply rooted in rural Missouri, which is evident in her commitment to the health and well‑being of her fellow Mid-Missourians. Patients appreciate her sincerity, her grounded approach, and the way she treats every individual as a neighbor who deserves respect and clear communication.
Outside of work, Melissa and her husband enjoy life on their ten‑acre property where they garden, raise chickens, and care for a small herd of Pygora goats. She is always happy to share photos of her beloved fiber goats and the creative projects they inspire.
