Dr. Lin brings extensive experience to the Surgical Specialists team, with a strong commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate patient care. He believes medicine should be guided not only by knowledge and technical skill, but also by respect, empathy, and a genuine understanding of each patient’s experience.

Dr. Lin’s approach is centered on building trust and ensuring patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their care. He takes time to listen to concerns, clearly explain treatment options, and develop individualized care plans that align with each patient’s goals and overall health. As part of the JCMG General Surgery team, Dr. Lin is dedicated to serving the mid-Missouri community by delivering high-quality general surgical care patients expect and deserve. Outside of his work caring for patients, he values spending time with his wife and two daughters.

James Lin, MD, provides comprehensive general surgical care for a wide range of conditions. As a general surgeon, Dr. Lin works closely with patients and their referring providers to diagnose and deliver timely, effective surgical treatment. His areas of focus include hernia repair, soft-tissue and breast procedures, and surgical care for conditions of the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, gallbladder, small intestine, and colon/rectum.
