Indumathi Baskar, MD

Dr. Indumathi Baskar discovered her passion for the medical field in high school, driven by her desire to care for others. Dr. Baskar completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York where she acquired valuable experience in the emergency room. Following the completion of her residency, she joined Jefferson City Medical Group in December 2006. As an internal medicine physician at JCMG, Dr. Baskar finds fulfillment in caring for multigenerational patients. “I feel like I am making a positive impact on my patients’ lives, and I enjoy that I now see the grown children of patients who established with me when I first started at JCMG,” she says.

Beyond her medical practice, Dr. Baskar enjoys reading, house cleaning as a way to destress, and cooking for her family. She is a devoted mother to a daughter, a son, and a Goldendoodle named Romeo. Dr. Baskar and her daughter regularly volunteer together at the Columbia Food Bank, sharing a passion for giving back to the community.

As an internist, Dr. Baskar offers non-surgical comprehensive care for both common and complex illnesses in adults. She emphasizes disease prevention, health maintenance, and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions. Dr. Baskar’s interests lie in women’s preventive health, diabetes management, as well as GERD and peptic ulcer disease.
