Dr. Jonathan Craighead is an orthopaedic surgeon with JCMG Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. His expertise is in general orthopaedics with a focus on joint replacement surgery and sports medicine. He also provides orthopaedic trauma care and performs multiple surgeries for fractures.
Dr. Craighead is one of the few surgeons in mid-Missouri to offer anterior hip replacement surgery and reverse shoulder replacement surgery. He has a special interest in outpatient joint replacement surgery and has pioneered the outpatient joint replacement surgery program at the JCMG Surgery Center. This program allows patients to return home on the same day as their joint replacement surgery. Dr. Craighead utilizes the most current and minimally invasive techniques to improve patient care and minimize recovery time.

A native of Jefferson City, Dr. Craighead returned to his hometown with his wife, Margaret, and his three children, Burke, Grafton, and Grace, in 2005 to establish his orthopaedic practice with JCMG. He has served as team physician for multiple teams in Jefferson City through the years, while coaching youth sports and attending his children’s sporting events. Dr. Craighead is active in his local church and enjoys spending time with family, watching movies, and playing golf in his free time.
