BBL, which stands for Brazilian Butt Lift, is technically known as “liposuction of the waist and trunk with gluteal fat grafting”.
Women are increasingly attending to the appearance of their backsides. In the 90s, buttock augmentation with implants was reasonably popular. This has largely been replaced liposuction and buttock fat grafting (BBL). At the time of BBL, we harvest fat from the abdomen, waist, saddlebags, and thighs to help shape the waist and the bottom. This fat is then processed to be reinjected as a living graft. In times past, fat was injected into the gluteal muscle which was problematic due to increased risk of complications. This is why we never inject into the muscle and keep our grafts subcutaneous (the space between the muscle and the skin). The result of BBL is a dramatic transformation of the figure in a few hours.
