Services
As a nurse practitioner, Ryan treats patients of all ages in the express care clinic for various acute illnesses and injuries. He can treat immediate, non-emergent health concerns, in addition to providing wellness services such as physicals and immunizations. Patients may be seen for any conditions that are non-life threatening but cannot wait for a doctor’s appointment.
About Ryan Shaffer, FNP
Ryan has been in nursing for over 15 years, working in a variety of clinics including urgent care and family medicine. He holds himself to a high standard of care, with prompt responses to his patients while being empathetic to their time and illness. Ryan says, “my goal with every patient is to make them feel that they receive quality and compassionate care.”
As for why Ryan became a nurse, he “just kind of fell into it.” Caring for people is his first instinct, and nursing seemed like the most appropriate way he could channel that care. Ryan’s constant desire to learn and become more independent pushed him to become a nurse practitioner in 2018. Ryan says he’s never done learning, as the more he learns, the more empathetic he becomes—which enables him to better serve his patients.
When Ryan isn’t assisting patients at JCMG Express Care, you can find him spending time with his daughter and dogs at home, traveling and hiking, or simply learning something new.
