Dr. Mariah Allen is a Board-Certified Pediatric Physician who treats children from birth to age 21. She focuses on providing comprehensive care for every child, ensuring they are healthy and safe. During routine check-ups, she screens for common childhood illnesses, evaluates developmental milestones, administers age-appropriate vaccinations, and offers anticipatory guidance to both the child and their family. In addition to well-child visits, she conducts examinations for ill children and provides guidance on basic wound care, ensuring they receive the appropriate treatment and care. Dr. Allen’s specific areas of expertise include sports medicine as well as providing education and guidance for children with asthma and allergies.
Dr. Allen was inspired to join the medical field by her mother who became a Respiratory Therapist after deciding to learn more about the asthma that afflicted her children. As a child, Dr. Allen became fascinated with how the human body works, learning from her mother’s medical studies. Her interest grew exponentially after she experienced an anaphylactic reaction of her own for the first time.
During her time in medical school, Dr. Allen felt herself drawn to pediatrics. Seeing how resilient the kids are, even in the midst of serious health problems, was inspiring and made her want to help children through their struggles. As a pediatrician, Dr. Allen is committed to connecting with the children she cares for and their families, building trust, and ensuring that everyone works together to maintain the health and safety of each child.
In her free time, Dr. Allen is often with her dog Quinn, either out walking or enjoying her playful antics at the park. She also enjoys reading, especially on a stormy day with a cup of hot chocolate. She visits her family regularly and plays board games or watches game shows with them. She is passionate about advocating for children and families to be heard by local and national legislators and policymakers.
