As a nurse practitioner, Lyndsey Shannon believes that education and prevention are powerful healthcare tools. She works to educate patients and families about prevention strategies, their diagnoses, and any applicable therapies. It’s important to Lyndsey that patients leave her appointments feeling confident and capable, whether that’s in regard to a new medication regimen, when they need to return for a new or changing condition, or any other clarification she can provide. Lyndsey is interested in all aspects of medical and cosmetic dermatology, including those listed below.
• Skin cancer screening, education, and prevention
• Psoriasis
• Dermatitis
• Acne
• Eczema
• Hair loss
Lyndsey has been interested in healthcare since childhood, and a career in nursing seemed to align with her love of science and interest in helping others. She was also intrigued by the variety of opportunities available. Early in her nursing career, she developed a deep love for the profession and the people, which eventually led her to pursue further education as a Nurse Practitioner.
In her free time Lyndsey enjoys spending time with her husband, Brian. They can often be found outdoors biking, kayaking, boating and fishing. They also actively serve in their church in Columbia, MO. Lyndsey was born and raised in Eldon, MO where she and her husband return regularly to visit family.
