Emily Barr provides care for patients of all ages in JCMG’s Express Care Clinic. She treats a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries, offering immediate, non-emergent care for conditions that cannot wait for a scheduled appointment. In addition to addressing urgent health concerns, Emily provides wellness services, including physicals and immunizations, ensuring patients receive timely, high-quality care when they need it most.
Emily’s goal as a provider is simple yet powerful: to deliver swift, patient-centered care without compromising quality. She believes every patient deserves compassion and clarity, and she works to make each visit as efficient and reassuring as possible.
Emily’s journey in healthcare began in 2017 as a patient care technician at Capital Region Medical Center. She advanced through roles as an LPN and RN before serving for 4 years as a nurse at the VA Hospital in Columbia, MO. Driven by her passion for helping others, Emily earned her Master of Science in Nursing through Walden University’s RN-to-MSN program.
Her decision to pursue nursing and later become a family nurse practitioner was rooted in a lifelong desire to make a difference. “I’ve always been drawn to helping people in any way I can,” Emily shares. “That’s why I chose nursing and continued my education to become an FNP.”
When she’s not caring for patients, Emily enjoys reading, cooking, and exploring her creative side through crafts. She loves to travel; one of her favorite destinations is Universal Studios, particularly for its Haunted Horror Nights. She also enjoys spending time with her beloved dogs and cats.
