As a Nurse Practitioner with the Women’s Clinic at JCMG, Cortny provides general obstetric and gynecologic care to women across all stages of life. Her practice includes routine prenatal care, annual exams, and the diagnosis and management of common women’s health conditions. While she does not perform surgical procedures or deliveries, Cortny is thoroughly trained in the management of pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period (puerperium).
Cortny is passionate about creating a supportive and welcoming environment for her patients. She emphasizes education, preventive care, and open communication to help women feel confident and informed in their healthcare decisions.
Cortny has maintained a longstanding commitment to women’s health, driven by a deep interest in reproductive care and the physiological impact of hormones throughout the lifespan. She began her nursing career in 2009 after graduating from Lincoln University, working in cardiac care before transitioning to Labor and Delivery, where she found her true calling.
In 2017, she advanced her training through Vanderbilt University’s Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program, completing clinical rotations at JCMG’s Women’s Clinic under Dr. Brandi Nichols. Today, Cortny is proud to care for women in mid-Missouri as part of the JCMG team.
Outside of work, Cortny enjoys farm life, family time, and staying active in her community.
